SAT - Scholastic Assessment Test

Test Content

The SAT is divided into three sections: Critical Reading, Mathematics and Writing.

1.     The Critical Reading section includes sentence completions and reading passages. Students need to complete sentences by using the right words and answer multiple-choice questions based on the accompanying passages.

2.     The Mathematics section consists of questions on arithmetic operations, algebra, geometry, statistics and probability. The section is comprised of multiple-choice questions and questions in which students need to do calculations.

3.     The Writing section is split into two parts. The first one consists of multiple-choice questions while the second part includes an essay, which has to be written about a given topic.

The SAT takes 3 hours and 45 minutes to complete. In each section, candidates can earn a minimum of 200 points and a maximum of 800 points, which makes a total score of 2400 points. Both Chulalongkorn and Thammasat Universities require a minimum of at least 1,100 points for admission. If students wish to apply to a university abroad, they should check the admission requirements for their particular school of choice or ask us to assist them with their research. Anybody who is interested in taking the test can register online at or ask us to assist you with the registration. The SAT is offered 6 times per year in October, November, December, January, May and June. Registration is only possible for the next test date
